I booked a 45-night stay at Icon Inn through Agoda in January 2026 for my parents, who are 70. After a friend visited the property, I realized the location would be inconvenient for them, particularly because one of them will have eye surgery during the March 2026 stay. Given their medical needs and mobility, I don’t think this accommodation is suitable. I explained the situation to the property manager, who said he would contact Agoda to see what could be done. Agoda later told me that Jack, the manager at Icon Inn, had said they couldn’t accommodate the request because the booking was non-cancellable and non-refundable. I understand the booking terms, and I’m not asking for a full refund. The reservation was made well in advance, the stay doesn’t start until March 2026, the circumstances involve elderly guests’ medical needs, and the property has time to rebook the room. I respectfully asked for a partial refund, even if cancellation fees applied. Losing the full $3,000 CAD charge is extremely difficult. I’m only asking for a reasonable compromise, but so far the answer to any refund has been a hard no. It feels like they’ll keep all my money. Very sad and unethical, and poor customer service. I don’t recommend them.

The rooms looked very different from the ones in the ads, and the experience was very bad. They also charged us 100 dollars for losing the room card, but wouldn’t let us pay by card, which seemed very strange.

I can’t really recommend Icon Inn based on our stay. The accommodation was far below what we expected: very basic and uncomfortable, not somewhere I’d choose for a relaxing vacation. The place needs major improvements to its facilities and comfort before I could recommend it. Ms. MJ from housekeeping was the one bright spot. She was kind, helpful and always made sure we had what we needed. Her warm attitude and hard work made a difficult stay a little more bearable. Thank you, Ms. MJ, for the great service.

Big plus, we could check ourselves in after 4am, and they let us leave our luggage after check-out. The owner responded to every inquiry, and I have no complaints about him. Ate MJ cleaned the room every day. It’s in Block E of Chungking Mansion, so there’s no long elevator line. The queue was only about 3-5 minutes and we were up. 😁😁😁

Icon Inn is on the 16th floor of Block E in the well-known Chungking Mansion on Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Ms MJ, the innkeeper, is friendly and helpful, and always does her best to make guests comfortable. Thank you very much, Ms MJ. The location is very convenient: the airport bus No.21 stop is just a few steps away, and Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is across the road. There are restaurants, snack shops, convenience stores, supermarkets, money changers and many other shops nearby. It suits budget travellers who need an affordable place to bathe and sleep, spending their days visiting Hong Kong’s attractions and returning at night. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out, and the WiFi is free and fast.
