Hopewell Hotel

Bowen at Concierge gave five-star service, and my room was immaculate and clearly well looked after. The hotel is in a great spot in wan chai, close to wan chai station, with the food district, market, and Hopewell mall right downstairs. A relaxed walk gets you to the Causeway Bay shopping district, Hong Kong park, or the peak tram. Such a great hotel.

The one part that let the stay down was the car park and drop-off on the 18th floor. The lobby is on 19, but when I arrived there was nobody to greet me, give directions, or help with my luggage. On later taxi returns, staff were either absent or chatting among themselves instead of welcoming or helping guests. For a five-star hotel, that felt unusual and left a poor first impression. It was a shame, because everything else was excellent. We even received 20% off shopping at adidas in the mall by showing our keycard. The hotel is very convenient, though I’d check the website videos beforehand to see how to get in through the mall. The room had a good hairdryer, USB plugs by the bed, and a universal adaptor. Housekeeping were lovely and attentive to detail, and the hotel WhatsApp chat made it easy to reach the team. They responded to requests very quickly and the service was consistently high standard.

Our stay was exceptional, and we’re looking forward to coming back to Hong Kong and staying at Hopewell hotel again. It’s well placed in Wan chai, close to the MTR station, eateries, and cafes. The hotel looked beautiful and was very clean, with huge rooms. Everyone on staff was friendly and quick to help. Breakfast had plenty of buffet choices, and it never felt crowded. Thank you for making the stay so memorable.

Getting around was simple from the mall: we found good restaurants just outside, used its pharmacy for a few last-minute things, and could reach the Wanchai Metro by footbridge. Kennedy Road was accessible via stairs behind the Hopewell, and the Wanchai Ferry Terminal was a 15-minute walk. For an expensive city, the price felt like a bargain compared with the other hotels I found. The rooms were both clean and high-tech while still feeling classy, and the beds were among the best I’ve slept on. I stayed in two rooms at Hopewell. My first was an unexpected upgrade to a one-bedroom suite with two bathrooms. I later joined a friend in a twin room, which had a much better view, though I did miss the suite. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning team, were super friendly. Other hotels could learn from you. Between the Wan Chai location at the base of Victoria Peak, the service, and the rooms, this made my Hong Kong stay a great one. Without exaggeration, it’s the best hotel I’ve stayed at. I hope to return next time I’m in Hong Kong.
