Parking was a major problem: the street is so congested that getting a vehicle in or out is difficult. At Akil Residency, the reception staff's manner was unpleasant, and service felt poor from check-in onward. My recent stay was below expectations and unsatisfactory. Staff behaviour, service standards, and parking facilities all need improvement.

Rooms were clean and neat, and the hotel was economically priced. Gandhipuram bus stand and Omni bus station are both less than a 10-minute walk away.

The air conditioning wasn't working properly, and the customer service was poor. They didn't even provide drinking water. A very bad experience with terrible service.

The rooms are tiny and don't justify what they charge. Be aware.

We got there at nearly 11 at night after driving for 10 hours, tired and sleepy, but the staff couldn't find my booking. They kept asking for the booking page, which I didn't have with me, and couldn't locate the booking number in their system. In the end I showed them a message from the reception person I'd booked the room with. The room was clean and okay for sleeping. I'd recommend it for a night or so.
