At checkout, the caretaker suddenly knew my number and exactly which property I was in. He called promptly at 11 AM to say I had to leave, and apparently had to give a five-star rating. So here’s my five-star review. The place had some positives, including a sofa, TV, AC, and Aquaguard, but those didn’t make up for the rest. I had a disappointing three-day stay and regret booking it. There was no privacy, service, or decent amenities, and OYO should inspect properties more closely before listing them. We stayed on the second floor, which seemed to be a terrace turned into a floor with a plywood house. The walls and ceiling were plywood, so we could hear the neighbors and outside noise clearly, day and night, throughout the trip. There’s no lift, so going up and down was a pain, especially with luggage, and nobody helped. There’s no car parking either. We asked to park inside, but the caretaker refused, saying many bikes parked there. During our three days, though, we saw only two or three bikes, which could have been parked to the side. We had to leave the car on the road. This wasn’t really a 1BHK, since the kitchen was downstairs and shared. It had a small sink and dirty dishes, no bin, and a fridge full of dirty water and old drinks from a previous stay. The toilet was attached to the room, with an open gap above its door and no exhaust fan, so its smell came straight into the room. There was no hot shower; for hot water, you had to use a mug and bucket. The room and bathroom were dirty and sandy. It looked like the previous guests had brought sand in from the beach, and the room hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in. There was no soap, shampoo, or other toiletries, and the caretaker wasn’t around to provide service. When we arrived, nobody was there. We called the number provided, and the person who answered didn’t know which property we meant, even after we gave the address. We waited outside for half an hour before someone arrived and checked us in. He gave us his number and told us to call if we needed anything. When we called for soap and shampoo, the same person asked which property we were at, said he couldn’t talk because he was riding his motorcycle, and hung up. He never called back, so we bought our own toiletries.
