Shyam Inn

The room and bed made a great impression: everything was spotless, spacious, beautifully furnished, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I also loved the balcony view of the city skyline in the evening, along with the darshan of Neem Karoli Baba Ji at the nearby temple. I stayed at The Shyam Inn from August 15th to 18th 2025. On arrival, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and were very helpful at check-in. I was impressed with nearly every part of the stay, would recommend it to friends or anyone visiting the city, and will definitely stay again.

The bathroom was filthy, poorly maintained, and unhygienic, with very weak water from the taps. The taps were rusted too, which raised serious concerns for me about cleanliness and safety. The room itself was in an extremely poor, unacceptable state, well below basic hospitality standards. When we asked for a refund through MakeMyTrip because of these problems, the staff kept interrupting us and acted in a harassing way instead of handling it respectfully. They also made us go through unnecessary repeated room checks. The property is lacking in cleanliness, maintenance, and basic customer service. I strongly advise travelers to avoid it, as it doesn’t meet even the minimum expectations for a decent stay.

After rebooking through MakeMyTrip and paying in advance, we found a bad smell in the room and rusty taps, jet spray, and shower in the bathroom. When we complained on MakeMyTrip, staff blamed “salty water” and asked us to check out immediately instead of fixing anything. They were rude and unprofessional, even sending the cleaner to force us out and saying the refund would be processed only after checkout and hotel approval. This was Hotel Shyam in Vrindavan. They had cancelled my first booking after 3-4 days because there was no advance payment. Not recommended at all.

The lights kept going off, the floor was slippery, and the washroom wasn’t very good. None of the LED TVs work, despite it being written all over. The luxury room cost Rs 1500. Look for another hotel, don’t book a room here.
