Parsian Enghelab Hotel

They say this is a 4 star hotel, but check-in took 45 minutes, and we had to register for the WiFi as well. We arrived at 7 and spent 30 minutes trying to find a bellboy to take our bags. The receptionist did apologize for the inconvenience, but I still wouldn’t stay here again.

I arrived at 14:00, the start of check-in, but it took 40 minutes before I got a room. The curtain didn’t cover the whole window, so light came in and I couldn’t sleep in a dark room. The tap was dirty, and they didn’t provide the internet password unless I asked. There were no grab bars in the bathroom or toilet for disabled people. Ventilation in both was rudimentary, as the attached photo shows. The duvet wasn’t in a proper cover, just two sheet layers with no stitching or ties to hold it in place. I was concerned it hadn’t been changed for each guest, so I put it aside and used only the flat sheet. There was tea, but no coffee or spoons in the room. There were other problems I won’t detail. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you have no other choice. You can probably find better rooms for the same price in Tehran’s 4-star hotels.

The cleaning employees were great, and hygiene, location, and breakfast were all good. The internet was awful, cutting out every minute and being turned off at 1 am. There was a lot of noise from construction and outside. The real problem was the receptionists, especially the men. They were always angry, gossiped a lot, and seemed to care only about money. Their treatment of guests was awful, with no professionalism. The hotel has good and bad sides, but customer treatment matters most, and that was terrible.

The hotel is old but beautiful, and the atmosphere was nice. I arrived early in the morning for our IELTS exam and the receptionist welcomed me. Some of the candidates had stayed there the night before. I was satisfied with the place overall. It’s in a central city neighborhood, though getting there may be difficult when traffic is heavy.
