Heart of Rome Rooms

The room was small, but the balcony made it a nice place to stay, and honestly, who spends much time in their room in Rome? Damian gave us some helpful pointers at check-in. There’s a great supermarket nearby, along with a pizza place and a liquor shop. Buses from here go to all the major tourist spots. Breakfast was good enough: I had juice, two ham and cheese sandwiches, and coffee each day. We stayed for five days from May 19, 2025. I’d come back if I get the chance.

The walls were so thin that you could hear everything from the rooms right next door, and the building itself is pretty old. From the photos, I expected a proper hotel, but it felt more like a house with hotel rooms lined up beside each other. The price seemed high for both the place and its location. It isn't extremely far from the center, but getting there still means a 30-minute bus ride. I understand Rome is packed with tourists and that affects prices, but I've had better stays in other hotels.

The rooms were clean, and getting around was easy, with bus stops and restaurants very close by. Still, what we paid for two nights felt like too much for a decent place. My friends and I stayed a couple of nights last week. A few downsides: the WiFi kept dropping every few minutes, and even when it connected, pages took ages to load. The train from Milan to Rome had much faster WiFi. Breakfast was below average, and towels were replaced every other day rather than daily.

The rooms were basic but clean, and very cold at night. Cold air came in, and all of our noses got blocked. The walls aren't soundproof either, we could hear the toilet flushing in the next room. We were given just one key, and the main gate is locked overnight, so if you miss it, you're stuck outside until morning. Breakfast was well below average. My kids didn't like it, so I ordered food from outside, but when I asked for a microwave to warm it up, they said they didn't have one. There were two small glass cups and coffee and tea sachets, but no milk or even a spoon to stir with. They didn't replenish them on the following days, either. Reception hours were limited, so you could only contact staff around breakfast or checkout. Watch out for the extra city tax charged per person, per night. They wouldn't take card payments, though they talked about government rules and regulations. The other staff member was arrogant. I'm giving two stars just for the guy Christiano.
