Locanda Ca' Lucrezia

Breakfast was tasty, though its 8-10 schedule didn't work well for us since we wanted to head out earlier. We stayed two nights, and the hotel was an easy walk from both the train and bus stations, so there wasn't much luggage-hauling over cobblestones. The city center was nearby too. The room was small and simple, just as we expected when booking.

We had a very good breakfast, and it was nice to be able to eat in the little back garden. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the service was friendly. They replied to our emails quickly when we had questions, and holding our bags until check-in was really convenient. The hotel is close to the train station and vaporetto stop, in a quiet, safe area.

We were usually out by 7:30 AM to see the sights, so breakfast started later than suited us and I can't comment on it. Still, this was a lovely place to stay. It's right by the train station, and most things we wanted to see in Venice were about a 20-minute walk away.

The location made a big difference with luggage. Venice's roads are slick and uneven, but the hotel was under five minutes from the train station and easy to find from there. We were three friends and each had our own bed in a room that turned out to be spacious, with a desk and two-seat couch. The bathroom was clean, towels and amenities were plentiful, and there was enough hot water for all three of us to shower. Our flight was badly delayed, so we arrived just after 10pm even though I'd told the staff we'd be there after 4pm and first estimated 6pm. The desk was closed, but their self check-in worked fine. They also let us leave our bags after checkout. I booked at the last minute and the hotel really came through. It's comfortable, clean, and budget friendly, with what you need. It's not super luxurious, but I had a lovely stay and would absolutely choose it again if I return to Venice. I'd definitely recommend it.
