Le Repubbliche Marinare Apartment

The breakfast wasn't for me, and having to wait for the shared bathroom was frustrating. My husband and I stayed here, and the room felt old and cold. Of all my trips to Venezia, this was the place I liked least.

For one night in Venice, my wife and I found the place decent but very basic, and not wheelchair friendly. The room was comfortable, with a big bed, clean sheets and pillows, and a clean, reasonably roomy bathroom. It was shared, and the hair dryer didn't work. There were no toiletries apart from handwash. The main problem was the cold. After several calls, we got a portable heater because the room heating wasn't working, but it didn't warm the room enough. The kitchen also had no warm water, even though the common area was heated. Breakfast was a simple spread of milk, coffee, tea, bread, and two or three kinds of cakes and muffins. The host was kind, but the hostess wasn't at all. I had an okay stay despite the cold, though it didn't feel worth the money.

We found check-in easy, and the location was perfect. The hosts were really welcoming and friendly, with a good level of privacy and comfort for the lower price. They also kept the place very warm during a cold February. I'd recommend it.

Everything else was fine, and the hotel is nicely placed quite close to Rialto bridge. My only gripe was that the hot blowers in the rooms weren't switched on, unlike at the other hotels we visited in November.
