The calm, welcoming feel makes it easy to stop and reflect, even if you’re not especially religious. The architecture is beautiful inside and out, with fine stonework, tall spires, colorful light through the stained glass, polished pews, and a richly decorated altar. Every part shows care and craftsmanship. When the choir sings, the sound carries wonderfully through the church. There’s a real sense of history and spiritual beauty here, and it stands out as a landmark where faith, community, and artistry meet. Whether you come for a service, the building, or simply to look around, it can leave you feeling inspired.

From the outside, the building doesn’t give much away, but inside the painted ceiling took my breath away. This was one of the first churches that made me gasp and feel awe, along with a sense of spiritual presence. The painting looks different from every angle, and the church has so much history. It was quiet and peaceful for prayer and reflection.

It’s quite plain from the street, but beautiful once you’re inside. Remember it’s an active church, so dress respectfully and keep quiet. Catholics may also be interested to know that the relics of Saint Pantaleon are kept here.

The ceiling is extraordinary, and the church is free to enter. Definitely worth seeing.
