Time Travelers Relax - Hostel (Foreigners Only)

Such a lovely hostel, and very social since it mostly draws solo travelers. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the German girl working there was so funny. The bunk beds don't have curtains, and the internet isn't perfect, but it's good enough for traveling.

The location was fine and so was the price, though the area wasn't amazing. We stayed six nights in a private room as a couple. It was clean, but they provide no shampoo or body wash, and having to squeegee the floor after every shower is pretty ridiculous, even for a hostel. They also don't give you a room key unless you put down a deposit, which is crazy. There was just one duvet for the two of us, and the curtains didn't cover the windows properly, so it got bright early. The staff were mostly fairly friendly, though the person who checked us in wasn't. We'd survive a stay here, but I'd recommend somewhere else. I've been to a lot of hostels and guesthouses in Japan and South Korea, and this was the worst for the room and the effort put into making the experience nice. Not great, but not terrible.

A comfortable few nights for a good price, with great staff and a really aesthetic kitchen. The beds don't have curtains, which isn't great when people come back late and can wake everyone else up.

We knew what to expect after reading the hostel description and reviews, and it matched what they advertise: a quiet, laid-back place without anything fancy. My boyfriend and I stayed five nights in an eight-bed dorm. I'd happily stay again. We got what we paid for and loved the location. It's under a ten-minute walk to the subway, a money exchange, and the start of Hongdae street, with its restaurants and route toward the bars and clubs. The hostel sits on a quiet suburban street that felt safe, though having the door code taped right on the door seemed unsafe. The hostel, beds, sheets, and bathrooms were clean. My top bunk was rickety and shook noisily whenever I moved. The room was a bit hot and stuffy, since the AC wouldn't go below 23, but it was manageable. My one real complaint was about the volunteers and staff, especially the Spanish-speaking girls. One night, while our whole room was asleep, they sat in the common area talking and laughing at full volume for two hours late into the night. Guests being noisy is one thing, and there are quiet sides too, but staff and volunteers represent the hostel. Aside from that, we had great exchanges with them and the other staff.
