Boho 27 Hostel Marrakech

The staff were very nice, and the breakfast was excellent. It's a small hostel with a nice atmosphere, though it can feel crowded and there's not much privacy. You can hear everything. The Medina location makes it easy to get around, and it's quiet at night unless other guests are making noise. The steep stairs and lack of seating could make it difficult for older people or anyone who has trouble going up and down.

The rooms are clean, the staff are helpful, the location is great, and having a key to come and go is nice. But at arrival they charged cash only, about $35 extra, when I'd read that I owed around 70 cents USD in Moroccan tax. For a week, that isn't a huge amount, but it's inconvenient and felt dishonest. The difference was enough that I could have stayed at a private hotel for about the same price. There's also a hole in the mixed dorm bathroom wall, so showers can get cold. It's still a hostel, but they should be upfront about pricing.

I booked about 20 days before arriving, paid, and got confirmation. Then at 11:30 pm on the night I arrived, a guy told me they were full and had no bed for me. He told me to go out and find a solution on my own, as a female solo traveler. He threw me out. Such an unpleasant experience. Please stay away from this hostel!

I called to ask if I could bring my bike and they said yes, of course. When I arrived, there was no space for it and they wanted me to leave it outside. I ended up on the street at 10 pm, looking for somewhere to sleep.
