Hotel Century Reforma

The rooms facing the street are extremely noisy, and the WiFi is very slow. For me, this is a three-star hotel at best, and that's only because of the location, nowhere near five stars. I checked in for one night after spending five nights in Polanco, CDMX, with friends. One friend had a very late flight out of Mexico City, so she came with me to check in and leave our bags. The front desk gave us a really hard time about holding her bags for the afternoon. That shouldn't be an issue at a genuine five-star hotel. I'd suggest the NH Hotel across the street. The staff are much friendlier, and the hotel is much nicer.

The room was cramped and dark, with one tiny window and barely enough space for two people to move. The mattress felt like concrete, and the bathroom and furniture were filthy and falling apart. There was black hair all over the bed. It looked like they hadn't changed the shits. The whole property was dirty, dusty, and foul-smelling, with constant noise from poorly managed ongoing 'renovations,' if you can even call them renovations. After visiting 32 countries and traveling to Mexico for 8 years, I've never encountered the policy of charging for guests anywhere else in the country. The 'Martini' at the bar was undrinkable, as the photo shows. I'm at a loss for words. Save your money and stay elsewhere. Mexico City is beautiful, and there are a lot of better places.

The room was clean, but it wasn't fully stocked, with no glasses or wash cloths. Our 6 AM wake-up call never came, and I had to remind reception to arrange our 6:30 taxi to the airport. The worst part was the rude reception staff, who may have been homophobic. That's unacceptable in hospitality. After this experience, I'll have to rethink staying at H. Century Reforma.

Really bad experience. The rooms are very old and noisy, and you can hear everything in the corridor. Service was poor, if there was any, and they didn't understand what you needed if you didn't speak English. Nobody at the hotel, not even reception, spoke English. The pool was like a bathtub, with kids yelling and splashing around. There were no pool towels and no service. Never going back.
