We went to the restaurant during a quiet hour, and everything was just right. The service was high class, and Daniel was patient and happy to explain things to us. The rooftop view is really, really good too. Go check it out.

We'd be happy to return to Domingo Santo. The atmosphere, food and drinks, and service made us want to recommend it. We stayed there in Mexico City at the beginning of November, and though we're late writing this, the visit stayed with us. The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout, even though we only know a few basic Spanish words. We always felt comfortable and well looked after. Daniel Cervantes deserves a special mention. His English is excellent, and he was warm, professional, and attentive to small details. He often anticipated what guests needed, and his kindness made our stay special. He's a real asset to the hotel and clearly puts in more than the job requires. Our room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, though a little noisy. Breakfast had a different selection each day, along with a generous, beautifully prepared bowl of fresh fruit that we loved. Dinner was just as enjoyable, and the mezcal selection was very good and well chosen.

The location is handy and breakfast on the roof was excellent. But the rooftop also hosts loud parties, with teenagers and people in their 20s shouting over booming music that carries through the whole building. Those two businesses shouldn't be in the same building. When the party ended, music from a neighboring property kept us awake. That stopped at 6 a.m., just as the cleaner's cupboard outside our room started clattering, with dustpans and brushes being knocked around. We didn't sleep at all. The toilet is in the bedroom itself, up on the mezzanine, with only a glass partition. So while trying to doze after a sleepless night, you can hear your partner's toilet noises reverberating around the room. The safe was jammed and inaccessible. We complained, but nobody tried to fix it, and it had probably been that way for a long time. Neither bedside light worked, the wiring was disconnected and the bulbs had been removed. The only lighting was stark overhead and wall lights, with no ambiance. If you're in that particular ground-floor room, opening the full-length window or door will wake the poor homeless person sleeping in the recess, which opens onto the adjacent square. We booked four nights and left two nights early, losing the advance payment with no refund from the hotel. I was gutted because I wanted to treat my partner to a nice stay and got it very wrong.
