I stayed six nights. The comfortable bed and pillows, daily room cleaning, fresh towels, and friendly staff were all appreciated. The place is a reasonable value, though last year I rented a much better Airbnb apartment for less. The roof patio has a lot of potential, with a small table, swinging bench, and young plants, but the seating isn’t comfortable enough to relax with a book. Shade and lounge seats would help. The decor inside is very plain, mostly empty beige walls with just two small pieces of art. Better lighting would help too: the bathroom was dim enough to make shaving tricky, only one of the bedroom’s two ceiling lights worked, and the living room and kitchen felt dreary. The TV could go on the living room wall. The studio apartments are fairly clean, but maintenance is lacking. Plumbing fixtures are wonky, and the shower water swings from warm to scalding without touching the controls, though there is plenty of hot water. Pressure is inconsistent. Soap is basic, towels are worn, and the hallway door should be replaced. The room door is hollow core, opens with a small key in the knob, and has no deadbolt. The building felt somewhat secure, so I wasn’t personally worried, but a stronger door would feel better. There’s a two-hob stove, two pots, basic utensils, and a refrigerator. Tap water isn’t suitable for drinking, and they provide one small bottle for the whole stay. I went to the lobby regularly to fill a larger bottle from the "garrifon". A "garrifon" in each unit would be useful. The front desk is very simple, but the attendant was helpful. There’s also a security guard I often saw in the breakfast lobby. A couple of times I came back after dark to find the lobby unattended and the gate unlocked. It didn’t worry me much because the area is quite safe. The neighborhood is relatively quiet but has enough activity to feel secure. Nearby are plenty of restaurants and the large shopping center at WTC. Getting around takes a little effort. Metrobus line 1 is an eight-minute walk, and San Pedro de los Pinos subway stop is ten minutes away, though it felt farther and the walk wasn’t as pleasant as the one to the Metrobus. The Metrobus is often extremely crowded, so the location loses some points for access. The windows keep out street noise, which is great, but on four of my six nights the couple living on the ground floor behind the hotel had gatherings past 1:30 am. The windows barely block sound, so I heard every word from their courtyard. Light sleepers will need earplugs or a noise machine. Breakfast is very basic: juice, small yogurt containers, a few cereals, bread, and coffee. It gets you started, but there are plenty of other options nearby. Nights can get chilly in winter, below 50F (10C), and there’s no climate control, so bring warm clothes. Some changes could make me recommend this place: add wall art, improve the plumbing and lighting, install a deadbolt and better hallway door, improve the windows to block noise from adjacent apartments, provide a "garrifon" in each unit, make breakfast a little better, and add shade, plants, and comfortable seating on the roof.
