Urban Residences Maastricht

The apartment is in a fantastic location and looks beautiful, but it’s worn out and needs refreshing. There was a lot of dust and dirt around the bed, which felt unhygienic, and it needs a deep clean. Check-in and check-out were poorly handled as well. We were asked to leave before the official checkout time, while housekeeping waited at the door and made us feel rushed.

The location was good, but I had no room service at all during my four-night stay. I had to buy toilet paper at a nearby supermarket. I’ve never seen a hotel with the shower inside the bedroom before. They locked my room after a woman claimed I’d smoked in it and demanded a 75 Euros fine. I felt I had no choice but to hand over my credit card. Then she said she’d accept 50 in cash. Big question mark.

The location was perfect, and the receptionist was professional and kind. Our room was spacious, with separate sleeping and living areas, and the kitchen had plenty of utensils for cooking with the IH or oven. If you’re wondering about parking, I managed to drive my VW Tiguan into the garage without trouble. The entrance is narrow, but I saw a BMW X5 parked there too, and it’s larger than the Tiguan.

It’s in the historic postal building, right on the corner of the Vrijthof, and the room was huge and dog friendly. The host was helpful and friendly. During our week-long stay, the dish machine never worked. We cooked a lot with the spiffy appliances and didn’t really miss it, though. We could have used the bikes but never did. I’d like to come back!
