Radisson RED Oslo Økern

I slept incredibly well, truly one of the best nights I’ve had. The bed was so comfortable and the area quiet. Public transport, including the metro and bus, is very close, and breakfast had plenty of options. I loved the stay and will definitely return.

It’s a newer hotel and everything was very clean, with tidy rooms and great service. The breakfast buffet was really good and a lovely way to start the morning. The location is a little away from the city area, but trains and buses connect it very well. I’d highly recommend it for families.

The room was small, with hardly any space for luggage or personal things, and the bathroom was modern and nice. The door often wouldn’t lock properly unless we tried several times, which was a serious concern. It’s handy for the FB3 airport bus, though not so convenient for the city center. Even basic things felt overpriced, like €5 for a bottle of water. Check-in itself was smooth, but we’d requested a double bed and got two singles. The receptionist said he’d arrange for them to be joined, but it was delayed again and again and only happened after repeated reminders. Even then there was a noticeable gap, so it was uncomfortable. For the rest of the stay, that same receptionist avoided greeting us, which felt unprofessional. A few other staff were polite and helpful, but service overall was inconsistent. The hotel has potential, but the room setup and service need work. Average at best.

Parking is available for hotel residents, but you have to pay by the day, with no hourly option. The room was elegant and spacious, and for the money it was the best value I found among the five hotels I stayed in in Norway. I didn’t include breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.
