Kailash Kuti Inn

For my first trip to KTM, this hotel left me with a very good impression of the city. The food is vegetarian only, but it was exceptional. I’m especially grateful to Hotel Manager Sijan, who was patient with all my questions and guided me around so I could explore safely and enjoyably. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable.

Kul and Kiran deserve special thanks for making the stay such a good experience. The staff were friendly and supportive, and the rooms were well maintained. The property is right next to PashupatiNath Temple Main Gate.

We arrived late at night with family, and the room situation made for a stressful, uncomfortable stay. We had booked and prepaid for four Deluxe Double Rooms, each with two single beds, but were given much smaller standard rooms instead. When we raised it, the owner said the booked rooms had already gone to someone else. I asked for a refund and was told there would be none and we had to stay in the rooms provided. After I said I would seek help from Nepal’s tourist police, the owner offered five rooms and said the correct rooms would be available the next day. That never happened during our stay. We didn’t push the argument further at the time because we were traveling as a family and had arrived so late, but the situation was distressing and inconvenient. There was little proactive help from the front desk. The room switch, conflicting information, and lack of follow-through affected our comfort and peace of mind. The refund discussion and promises about room assignments weren’t honored either. Future guests should confirm the room category and bed setup in writing at check-in, document any differences, and ask for a supervisor or contact the owner if staff can’t resolve the matter. It’s also sensible to check refund terms in advance and consider other accommodation if clear policies and allocations matter to you. This was a disappointing experience because the booked room type was misrepresented and the handling was inconsistent. If you do book Kailash Kuti Inn, verify your room on arrival, keep written confirmations, and be ready to escalate. Based on what happened to us, I wouldn’t recommend booking online without thoroughly checking the room allocation and refund or compensation policy. If others had a different experience, I’d appreciate hearing about it.
