Kathmandu Nomad Apartment

After visiting Ranibari Community Forest, which is only a short walk away, we stopped at Nomad’s Garden and had a fantastic time. The garden itself is lovely, with tables under cover as well as seating on the grass. The team were short one serving staff member the day we arrived, but still managed to accommodate our group. They were kind and helpful with our questions, and very accommodating of our specific requests due to feel preferences. The momos were some of the best I’ve had in Kathmandu, and the dipping sauce was delicious and unusual, not the usual kind. My daughter really enjoyed the loaded potato skins too. I didn’t order a platter, but after seeing them come out, I wished I had, they all looked amazing. I’d love to come back during our short time in Kathmandu, and would recommend it to families or groups visiting the city or exploring the community forest.

The chicken steam momo was juicy and full of flavor, and I really liked the cozy atmosphere. The pizza was a letdown, though. Its thick dough felt heavy and undercooked, so I didn’t enjoy it much. I hope they can make the pizza more palatable.

The kitchen was cute and we had fun cooking there. The staff were kind, and the manager even helped us get groceries, which was really sweet. There’s a lovely forest close by for morning walks, too. We had a great stay at Nomad’s Apartment and would recommend it if you want some quiet in Kathmandu.

The non-veg platter was generous and had a nice variety. Tiger Chicken had a bold flavor, and the BBQ chicken wings were tender, sticky, and just spicy enough. The momos were fresh and steamed well, while the chowmein had good flavor without feeling greasy. It’s a peaceful spot near Ranibari jungle, with garden seating and soft lights that make the place glow in the evening. Service was quick and friendly, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to linger over dinner or catch up with friends. They have an apartment as well. I’d recommend it for the food and setting.
