Shivapuri Retreat

We were a group of 29, including four kids, and since we were the only guests, we enjoyed our stay to the fullest. I went with office colleagues and family to this nice, family-run and managed place. They don’t take walk-in customers, and catering is only available by pre-booking. It’s popular with people who know it and come back, rather than those looking for a fancy, crowded place. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re neat and clean 👌. The food has a lovely, homely taste.

The hospitality is good and the food is delicious, though the menu needs more items. There should also be parking, and extra activity facilities for kids would make it a better family environment. It’s a perfect place for a retreat near Kathmandu valley, and I’d love to visit again.

The birdsong and garden made it feel like being at home, with a huge lawn and a real sense of calm. There’s also a lovely view over Kathmandu City. I’d come back for that peaceful feeling again.

It’s around 10 km from the ringroad, and getting there means taking some pretty steep roads. Still, this resort up above Kathmandu is memorable. Seems like a good-value option for a short break with family or a group.
