Legazpi Tourist Inn

I booked a bed in the backpacker's room for four days and three nights. It was clean and spacious, and there’s an elevator and some amenities to use during your stay. The location is great, with a 7/11 downstairs and Ayala Mall and LCC Mall nearby. Customer service was great too. They let me leave my baggage in the lobby after check-out.

For P1800 a night, I had a Single Room with 2 single beds on the 4th Floor. It came with a balcony, complimentary breakfast, and plenty of toiletries: body wash, shampoo, body lotion, and hand wash. The hotel is right beside LCC and Ayala Mall, with Embarcadero, NBI, and Pacific Mall within walking distance. It’s also a jeepney stop served by almost all routes, and there’s a 7-Eleven on the ground floor. The elevator wasn’t working during my stay, which made climbing pretty exhausting. The shower pressure was very weak, so rinsing could take an hour, although at least there was a water heater. The faucet below worked fine.

I’d reserved a backpacker room well ahead of time, then the Inn canceled it on the day I was due to arrive, saying the room was "out of order." My plans were already based on that booking, and getting no advance notice or suitable alternative at the last minute was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. The problem should have been anticipated and communicated earlier. It was unprofessional and showed little respect for my time. I’d been looking forward to the stay, so this experience fell far short of what I expect from a reservation. I hope management takes this seriously and improves how it handles bookings and communicates with guests. No one else should have to deal with this.

I wanted an inexpensive room in a good location, and got both here. For 800 pesos, a simple room for two is hard to complain about. It was clean and fairly spacious. I also liked being able to refill my bottle at the water dispenser by the counter. They ask for a small donation of a few pesos, which seemed fair, and you can even fill a full can with hot water. I didn’t interact with the staff much, so I can’t judge them.
