My booking included an extra bed and breakfast, both already paid for through my travel agent, yet I had to keep reminding staff to provide what was agreed. Straightforward requests became frustrating and time-consuming. Communication between the hotel team, customer service, and travel agents seemed very poor, and I repeatedly had to explain the same things and chase matters that should have been handled proactively. The main problem wasn’t the property itself, but the lack of service, coordination, and focus on guests. There was little empathy or ownership. Instead of resolving issues efficiently, I was left coordinating between different parties, which caused unnecessary stress and wasted vacation time for my family. A hotel stay should be about hospitality and the guest experience. Here, service felt reactive, with little understanding of the inconvenience caused. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially to families who expect reliable service and smooth coordination with travel partners.
The service was excellent, quick, attentive, and thoughtful. When my husband slipped by the lobby because of a small, hard-to-see step, his ankle swelled and he had trouble walking. I asked room service for ice, and they kindly brought a full bucket. We used it to compress his ankle overnight before going to the hospital the next morning. Thankfully, it’s very close, so he got medical help quickly. When a button came off my clothing, staff promptly brought me a sewing kit as well. We really appreciated their care. For families, the hotel has useful amenities: a bathtub, reliably hot shower water, iron, hairdryer, body lotion, and a bidet spray, which is convenient for Muslim guests. Housekeeping cleaned daily, and our room was always clean and comfortable. We didn’t get a chance to check out the other facilities, including the pool. The property is old and the décor isn’t new, but it’s well maintained and clean. The hotel is easy to find and well placed near an MRT station, bus stops, shopping malls, and a hospital. It’s a quiet hotel even though many facilities are nearby, and we slept well. The area is Muslim-friendly, with halal food easy to find, a mosque close by for daily prayers, and a 7-Eleven right across the road. There are also plenty of cafes and places to hang out within walking distance, some open late. It’s a pleasant area for a walk. We found it complete and well equipped for family travel, particularly with children. We’d recommend it to families and thank the team for a memorable stay.
I spent six days here on a work trip and chose a deluxe room with a king bed. It was comfortable and had the basic necessities. The location is strategic, about five minutes on foot from Bugis Mrt Station, with Bugis + and Bugis junction nearby. There are plenty of food spots too, including Haji Lane, Albert Hall food court, and Bugis Street. I’d definitely choose this hotel again when I return to SG.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. If you’re fine with older rooms and dated décor, this Village is a good option for a short visit, especially for its location. The rooms are a bit old but large and much more spacious than Singapore’s nano hotels. The breakfast buffet has a good spread, though it’s a little expensive, and most restaurants outside don’t open until around 10.00. We arrived early in the morning, with check-in only around 2pm, so the pool lounge and shower facilities came in handy. We left our bags in the lobby and freshened up poolside. The location is spot on, near affordable Arab and Indian restaurants, 7 eleven convenience stores right across the road, Bugis junction mall, and Golden Landmark Mall. I remember this place as Golden Landmark back in 2000.
6 Mar 26. Bad choice for our one-day Puasa staycation and birthday celebration. I’d told them in advance we were there for my daughter’s birthday, but when we got to the room there was nothing. We were on the 16th floor and had a nice view, so thank you for that. The kettle was dirty, the floor felt icky, and the toilet felt soapy even after we sprayed the whole floor. The bathtub looked haiz. On the plus side, the bedroom was spacious, the toilet had a bidet, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We opted for sahur, which was another bad choice. For 2pax it cost $52+, and the food was mee goreng basah kicap, Nasi goreng cina, dry chicken nuggets that weren’t juicy, potato wedges that were dry too, hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, basic cakes and fruit, porridge that wasn’t up to a good standard, and cereal. At least they could have had chicken soto. It’s supposed to be for people eating sahur, but the spread felt so thoughtless and heartless. We couldn’t eat much. We should’ve just ordered Grab for mamak food, which tastes better and is much cheaper. I expect management will reply with an apology about our unsatisfactory stay, but saying sorry isn’t enough. Do they actually care about improving, or are they just taking customers’ money for their own pockets? If this is how paying guests are treated, I wonder how they treat their own staff. Haiz. I have no family connection to this hotel, just a customer giving feedback.
