The area feels very safe, and Siam Tropical Gardens apartments is essentially OK. The shops and services in Jomtien are very local. I suggest keeping to yourself, because if you feel you've been treated unfairly, it's best not to protest or complain. I was verbally challenged and threatened aggressively by another cafe customer for sitting in the wrong place. It was very unpleasant. The complex also seems popular with Russian people.

I paid 5500 baht/month, with the gym and pool included, and the landlord was nice and fair. The room was small, but had everything I needed. It's a five-minute walk to the beach. Jomtien takes around 25 minutes on foot, and Pattaya beach around 35 minutes. By mototaxi or scooter, it's just a few minutes.
