MAZI Design Hotel by Kalima

The staff made this stay for me. Far and Tuk, the cleaning ladies, kept my room spotless, and Jae, Vina, Joe, and Krit at reception made me feel welcome. Everyone was smiling and ready to help. I was travelling solo and stayed from May 26 to May 30, 2026. I walked in late after looking around for somewhere to stay, and the price felt great for what I got. The room had no balcony or view, but it was spacious and very clean, and the bed was comfortable for the price. Fresh towels and two bottles of water were provided every day. The beach, a 7-Eleven, ATMs, currency exchange and shops are all within walking distance. My only tip for solo travellers is to skip breakfast here and get food outside or at 7-Eleven. Great value and service, highly recommend.

The hotel had a nice atmosphere, a good pool and useful amenities. Its location made it easy to get around Patong, and the staff at check-in and checkout were polite and welcoming. We had a comfortable, enjoyable three-night stay at Mazi Design Hotel by Kalima, apart from one unpleasant incident. At about 1:30 AM on the night of the 26th, I went to reception because we were very thirsty and asked for water. The receptionist said the two complimentary bottles per room were the limit, which I understood, and I offered to pay for another. The staff member argued and spoke aggressively instead of explaining politely. I calmly said there was no need to shout over something so small, but the exchange stayed unpleasant. The refusal wasn't what upset me most, it was how it was handled. Hospitality also means how guests are treated. Management can review the CCTV around 1:30 AM on the night of May 26 to see what happened. I hope they take this seriously and provide the staff member involved with better customer service training.

Still staying here, and so far this place is amazing. The staff are great. They even cleaned my room after I'd only slept in it for about five hours on my first night. I feel a bit bad, since every other day would still be more than enough. There's a pool, food, and the beach is super close. Funny thing, the pool feels cold to me now after swimming in the ocean, so try it first.

I was here almost a month, and even with a few drawbacks, I think it's good value compared with the average in Patong. The room was clean, and I always judge a room by the toilet, which was good here. There's a small gym and a pool, though only a few sunbeds. The location and price are good, and the pool's nice for relaxing. The reviews had kept my expectations low, but it was worth the money.
