The front desk team were genuinely kind, helpful, and good at solving problems whenever I had a question. Breakfast was a standout, both for the range of options for different allergies and intolerances and for the staff looking after the area. Sude Dibekly took great care over what I could eat and arranged specially made gluten-free options with the kitchen. It meant a lot to me. I loved my stay at the Burdock Hotel. Thank you for such great service and for having staff who deliver it.

The staff were charming and helpful, and the location was good, right next to a tram stop. The room was acceptable, but the bed was uncomfortable: it was a queen rather than the promised king, and had a dip in the middle. The separate glass cubicles for the toilet and shower also limit privacy, which could be awkward for a new couple.

Dinner at the Burdock restaurant was fantastic. Before an afternoon walk, we sat briefly with Burak, the amazing mixologist, and Sude, who went through the menus with us and was friendly and engaging. When we came back for cocktails and dinner, they welcomed us like old friends. Burak asked what we liked, then mixed a wonderful local cocktail with green apple and feta cheese. It was one of the best cocktail experiences I've had, and the flavor changed with the garnish. Earlier, Sude had suggested sharing two lamb entrees, and Abdullah and Yagiz in the kitchen made two amazing dishes full of flavor that introduced us to new tastes. Sude also picked the perfect wine and served us with kindness and efficiency. Their manager, Erdem, kept a gentle, watchful eye over it all. A fantastic dinner in Istanbul!

The metro is right there, and it’s a pleasant walk to the chateau and cafes. Inside was relatively clean, but the room was extremely cramped, with the shower and bathroom separated from the room only by a glass curtain. Outside, the surroundings were messy, and the hotel sits beside a busy road with constant passing trains. WiFi was poor, the minibar and coffee shop were overpriced, and the staff and management came across as rude. We were also told breakfast was included, then that changed when we arrived. The worst part was the minibar. There were drinks and chips in our room, but we couldn’t find any prices. After taking two bags of chips and three Sprites, we were charged $60. Staff said menus were in every room and blamed me for not finding one. Management searched four rooms and couldn’t find any menus either, apparently they’d been removed. They said it was my problem and offered no help. I bought the same chips and Sprite across the street at a gas station for $5 and replaced them. It felt like a silly attempt to scam us. For what you pay, the stay was disappointing, and this was my first Turkish scam experience.
