KA Hotel & Suites

The old town location made sightseeing easy. The hotel was close to the famous mosques, Gülhane Park, restaurants, and transit, and it felt safe to walk around. We found Sultan Abdullah Hamid Tomb, Topkapı Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque), Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı), Hagia Sophia, and a Borphors Sea view about 13 minutes away. Kadırga Park and the local streets near Kadırga Limanı were nearby too. Ayub / Eyüp Sultan Tomb in Istanbul was about 30 minutes away, while Istanbul Airport was 60 minutes away. Metro and tram access was easy. My family had a fantastic 10/10 stay at KA Hotel & Suites, Şehsuvar Bey, Kadırga Limanı Cd. No:52, 34126 Fatih/İstanbul, Türkiye. That included my 92-year-old father, 2-year-old baby daughter, and 6-year-old son. Staff were warm and always ready to help, so I felt at home from the start. The room was modern, spotless, and comfortable, with a great bed, clean bathroom, and amenities provided with care. Housekeeping paid attention to details, and the room was quiet. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fresh choices, and the service was fantastic. The staff went out of their way each day to keep guests happy. KA Hotel & Suites felt professional, clean, and well managed, and the stay was great value. I really enjoyed it and would return. Highly recommended for a visit to Istanbul.

We reached the hotel with my family close to 9pm and were told at reception that our Agoda booking hadn't gone through. I had an Agoda confirmation showing it was paid, plus an email from the hotel confirming the reservation 15 days earlier. The only option offered was to pay again at the desk to check in. Another guest arriving after us had the same Agoda problem. I can't tell whether Agoda or the hotel was responsible, or whether the hotel was trying to take advantage of guests. Agoda eventually refunded me, but I had to contact them quickly. Otherwise, nobody might have noticed we'd paid the hotel twice for the same booking. I understand everyone needs to make a living, but this was a poor first impression. I hope the country treats its guests honestly.

The staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of places to eat within a five-minute walk, from simple kebabs to fancier meals. Our two-room suite was quiet, clean, and comfortable. It was a bit banged up, which is why I didn't give it five stars, but it was adequate and reasonably priced. The location worked well for the Blue Mosque area, about a 10-minute uphill walk to the mosque and the same to the tram. We were glad we stayed.

We stayed three nights. It's a small but comfortable place, with shops nearby for basics, including an electronics store where we got SIMs and charging cables, a pharmacy, and corner shops. They don't serve food, but can order it for you. There are plenty of nearby places to eat, at both reasonable and ridiculous prices, so we didn't need room service. Bottled water came daily, along with coffee and tea sachets. Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia are about a 15-minute walk away. Public transport stops are also walkable, though more than 10 minutes away and uphill, which was the part of the location I liked least.
