Walking into town through Widcombe and along the canal was one of my favourite parts of our girls' trip. We stopped at Landrace Bakery for a chocolate cinnamon bun, and it turned into one of those perfect Bath days. I used to live in Bath ten years ago, and staying at Leighton House brought back why I loved it, while still feeling peaceful, beautifully designed and like a treat. Our twin room was roomy and stylish, with comfortable beds, a generous bathroom and a proper rain shower. The lighting, furniture, Verden toiletries, and good tea and coffee all felt just right. The house and its artwork are stunning, and I especially loved the breakfast room's design and pretty ceramic bowls. Breakfast was excellent, particularly the scrambled eggs. The staff were warm, attentive and genuinely kind. Such a special place. We had a great time, and I'd happily recommend it or stay again.

For my solo business trip, I found the hotel quiet and very comfortable, with helpful, lovely staff both during my stay and over email beforehand. The breakfast may be the best I've had in a hotel. The uphill walk from town is the one thing to bear in mind, though it didn't bother me and felt like a fair trade for the parking. I'd definitely return.

Breakfast was a real treat, delicious and beautifully prepared. There was cooked food as well as fresh juice, yogurt, muesli with seeds and berries, mini pastries, dried and fresh fruit, and more. Scrumptious really is the word. Leighton House has a lovely lounge with a fab little bar, and the flower arrangements and other thoughtful details make you feel relaxed. The staff were warm, attentive and kind, so the stay felt personal. Our twin room was beautifully styled and comfortable, with soft lighting, a spacious bathroom, underfloor heating and a gorgeous shower. The beds felt cloud-soft and made it easy to rest. Every detail seemed carefully considered. It's a gentle, joyful place that made us slow down, catch up and notice the little things. Returning to everyday life was surprisingly hard. I left rested and restored, and would wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you so much!

The staff were friendly and polite, and breakfast was fabulous. Our towels, quilt and pillows felt sumptuous, and the little touches were lovely, including the beautiful scent and small mince pies waiting when we arrived. My only niggle is that the room felt a bit small for the price. Still, with free parking, breakfast and tea and coffee in the room, I can't really complain. We'd definitely return to this charming guesthouse in a charming city.

The room was spacious, and the soft bed and bedding gave us a great night's sleep. We booked the superior double, and thought parking and breakfast included was good value. Daniel gave us a lovely welcome and showed us to the room. The breakfast was delicious and cooked just right, with cookies, jam and juices as treats. The breakfast servers were lovely, though the room itself was rather cold and needed more heat. I also enjoyed the lounge, its design, flower bouquets, hallway art and self-serve tea and milk. The walk downhill into Bath takes about ten minutes, with an uphill walk back. A couple of cleaning details weren't great: grime and dust on the bathroom door panels, a little mould by the shower, a bobble left in there, and dirty-looking soap and moisturiser dispensers. Maybe the clean was rushed. The chair covers needed a deep clean or replacing, and the scuffed walls could use paint. The room also didn't have the books, dried flowers or design lamp shown in the photos. Those touches aren't essential, but if pictured, I think they should be there. Even with those gripes, it was a lovely stay. Nearby, Bikanos Indian was a top-notch meal, and The Moorfields pub had great live music and friendly locals. Thank you!
