Even with one coach leaving and another arriving on a chaotic Sunday afternoon, check-in was quick. The lovely woman serving gave us all the information we needed to find our room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a standard Premier Inn, much like others we’ve stayed in. The location is fabulous, just minutes from the Scottish Museum, the art gallery and more. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. We paid extra, but I wouldn’t do that again. The cooked food was cold, not just lukewarm, and I couldn’t finish it. That’s why I knocked off a star.

We were delighted to find our room had a castle view after staff had told us those rooms were sold out. We’d also mentioned it was our daughter’s birthday, and they left her a card and a bag of chocolates. Such a thoughtful touch. The location made it easy to walk to all the main sights in Edinburgh. Our room was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the restaurant had plenty of breakfast choices. A great stay, and we’d highly recommend the hotel.

The view was amazing, and I’d stay again just for that. I paid £311 for a long weekend over Burn’s Night in a Premier Plus room with a view, a brilliant price for the location. The booking included £15 for early check-in, but the room wasn’t ready until the usual 3pm. These things happen, and the receptionist was lovely and refunded the £15. Sorry I didn’t catch your name! It would have helped to get a message when the room was ready, as I felt I couldn’t do much except keep popping back. The room was fairly clean. There were a few carpet stains, and the duvet was quite stained too, although the parts of the mattress I checked were clean. I won’t list everything since I didn’t complain about anything. I do think the cleaners could ease up on the bleach, though. There was quite a bit on the carpets in my family’s rooms and in the halls.

Great value and location, with friendly, helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, seemed recently refurbished, and had a hot, powerful shower. The attached bar and restaurant served a good buffet breakfast. Everything I’d expect from a decent Premier Inn.

The hotel is functional and very central, within easy walking distance of many of Edinburgh’s main tourist spots. We didn’t spend much time there, but the service made a real difference. I had a minor issue and the hotel team sorted it quickly. It was my nephew’s birthday, which I mentioned casually to Shabana. When we came back later, there was a card and a gift. Shabana also gave us helpful tips on getting around and what to see. Thank you for making our stay great.
