The front desk staff were lovely and very helpful, and the rooms were excellent. I had to stay here because of a family emergency, as the facility is across from the hospital. But be careful booking through an online service, as I did: the reservation was for the wrong date. Even though I paid for the actual night of the emergency, management refused to refund the incorrect dates. It felt like the bottom line mattered more than customer service.

We liked the spacious, very clean queen suite and its layout, and the window coverings could filter the light or make the room nearly black, which we appreciated. There was just one small table between the beds, though, and we would have liked a side table by each one. There’s room for them. The washer and dryer weren’t working during our stay, even though we needed that promised amenity on our extended vacation. Luckily, a great laundromat was a mile away.

During the recent power outages in Golden, my aunt stayed here because her sister lives nearby. The rooms were spacious and staff generally friendly, but they didn’t seem prepared to deal with serious trouble from a guest. A man next door to my aunt yelled, screamed, and banged on walls and doors for more than six hours. Apparently this had also happened the day before, and although he’d been spoken to, nothing changed. Other guests complained overnight and in the morning. My aunt was afraid to leave her room because she might end up alone in the hallway with him. Staff apparently could only say he was checking out that day. I heard him too. It sounded like he could be having a serious breakdown or mental health issues. This wasn’t a party or a one-time argument, and I think it could have escalated. Police should have been called for a wellness check. I’m very unimpressed with how staff handled it, and hope they update their policies to protect staff and guests.

Ruth and management really had our backs during the outages and helped us with the cancellation. We hadn’t stayed here before, but now we absolutely will. I appreciate the community-minded way they do business. Thanks for your help today, Ruth! Jess and Dani Shafer
