Americas Best Value Inn Pasadena Arcadia

The neighborhood is quiet, there’s great food within walking distance, and I had no trouble with bugs, noise, or homeless people. It’s basic but does the job. The room was clean and okay, and John the manager is a really nice guy. I’d come back.

The location is nice, but the place itself was below average. There’s no breakfast, supplies of soap and towels are limited, and nobody was around when I checked out. They gave us the Wi-Fi password at check-in. Very few amenities. A real dump!

I picked this hotel because its price was close to nearby Airbnbs and it advertised free breakfast. I was only in town for two days, mostly in meetings, so that would have been a useful perk. At check-in, the desk clerk told me there was no breakfast. When I asked for a discount because of the misleading listing, he blamed a third party booking source and said they’d been trying to get it corrected. My guess is this has been advertised incorrectly for a while, though I can’t know for sure. I left disappointed. If you have another option, stay somewhere else.

We stayed for three days while sorting things out after our house burned down. The office manager was polite, spoke clear English, and made us feel comfortable and private. He arranged a clean carpeted room for our baby and made sure the mail was walked through beforehand. The shower was very clean too. It’s a great area, close to the mall, restaurants, and a Target just down the street. I’d definitely stay again.
