The Haas, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The Haas Building has so much character and is beautifully kept. Everything felt clean, orderly, and thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere was welcoming. You can tell a lot of care goes into making this a lovely place to spend time. Five stars, highly recommend!

We spent five nights here while I was in Los Angeles for the Grammy awards. It's an easy walk to Crypto Arena, Peacock Theatre, and the Grammy Museum, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment is in a converted industrial building, so it has high ceilings and exposed brick. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, full-size fridge, coffee maker, and basic cooking utensils. There's an oven, but no pans or baking sheets to use with it. This is downtown Los Angeles, so expect to see plenty of homeless people on the streets. I'd stay here again.

The front desk team were great, really helpful. We travel with my elderly mom, blind dog, and family, and the spacious rooms worked well for us. They have full kitchens, roomy bathrooms, city views, several TVs, and walk-in closets that helped us keep things tidy. We could walk to Grand Central Market, Bottega Louie, Perla, Whole Foods, and shops. USC and LA Live are about 10 minutes away. The parking structure is across the street, with plenty of spaces, and costs $25 a day without having to tip each time. There is some city “grit” and a small scattering of homeless people nearby, but we felt safe walking around. That's urban life.

The staff helped me feel at ease as soon as we arrived, and they were helpful the whole time. Parking was a bit hairy, but we found an open lot that worked. The homeless scene was pretty profound, so minding your own business is key. You hear sirens all night too, so earplugs might help. 😊 I had five kids with me, and we had a good time. The hotel was close enough to our event that we rode e-bikes. It takes some finagling, but it all worked out. I appreciated the scene and all the staff. This place was both a challenge and a blessing.
