Nothing fancy or especially central about the neighborhood, but it’s fine if all you need is a basic place to sleep. My room met expectations, while the service and location felt more ordinary. Average stay overall.

I asked for my money back in the morning and they refused. Instead they offered a “discount” on another night, but that room cost $250 rather than $130. The staff laughed about what had happened, even after saying other guests had complained. From midnight until 7 a.m., I could hear a man violently assaulting a woman on the 4th floor for hours. I begged the front desk to call the police. The overnight employee came up, got scared, and ran back to the elevator. No one did anything. The place was filthy and full of drugs, pimps, and chaos. A trap house would feel safer. This was traumatizing, I didn’t get my money back, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Avoid it at all costs.

We paid a good price, and the hotel was close to the metro. Breakfast was good, the staff were very friendly, and our room on the 4th floor had a great view. It was clean and got cleaned every day.

I regret staying here. The sheets were dirty and had hair on them, and parking was a hassle. The actual price ended up much higher than the one shown online. There weren’t proper facilities either, no place to sit and eat, no refrigerator, and no microwave. Conditions overall were very poor, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.

We spent three nights here while visiting nearby china town for medical reasons. The woman at reception made us feel welcome when we checked in and said I could use one of the two parking spots out back. They’re extremely tight, and I wouldn’t suggest them for anyone new to driving. Once parked, your door opens only about halfway, and you have to back all the way onto the street to get out. Our room was tiny and cramped, with somewhat dirty floors and two dead insects stuck on the walls. Still, I’d give it a pass because my experience at The Phoenix hotel across the street was horrendous, and I won’t get into that more. The TV only had a few cable channels. It was a Roku TV, but never connected to the internet, so updates and apps like Youtube and Netflix wouldn’t work. The internet was the worst I’ve experienced anywhere, constantly dropping; even when connected, neither I nor my parents could load a page. We had nothing to do whenever we got back to the room. I let it go the first night. On the second night I went down for help and the receptionist said it was just us, which I found hilarious. Then the new receptionist asked me to park farther into my spot so maybe they could squeeze another car behind me. I’m pretty sure they could have done that if they wanted, and felt he was just giving me attitude. You know who you are. Since I booked through Expedia and it was non-refundable, I went back upstairs and put up with it. The stay was the best and the worst, and The Phoenix has itself to thank. The Phoenix loses at everything except internet and wifi. It was partly my fault for being cheap, but I’ve stayed in cheap hotels and had a great time. If all you need is somewhere to pass out for the night, this should do, just don’t ask a certain receptionist too many questions or for help. And I love all the fake 5 * reviews I see for these places.
