Sunshine Motel

The room was only okay, with a splintering door edge, part of the ceiling left on the toilet, and utilities that didn’t work. But the staff made this a horrible experience. The people running the place seem not to like customers, and they were extremely rude and unfriendly. When I tried to book, the woman who answered told me to call back in 20 minutes and hung up. I called again, but nobody picked up. Another time a man said, “I'm trying to sleep!” and hung up on me. After I posted a negative review, the manager called and emailed me repeatedly, threatening to sue. At $50 a night, it cost more than I’d ever pay for that experience. I would never stay here again. Avoid this motel.

The location isn’t the best, but the rooms were very clean and well maintained. For the price, this place gives you a lot. I’ve paid twice as much for half the accommodations.

The only real downside for me is checkout at 10:30 am. I’ve stayed here several times and would stay again. It’s the cheapest motel in all of San Bernardino, and a good choice if you’re on a budget. The rooms have a cool retro feel and seem less dangerous than the other downtown motels. Usually they’re clean. Twice I found dirty sheets, but they changed them as soon as I said something.

It was quiet and laid back, with a homey feel. The rooms were clean and cool, and each one had cable TV and a refrigerator. Staff were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
