Pacific Heights Inn

Mike at the front desk was cordial and accommodating throughout our stay. He shared several ideas for nearby things to do and even let me leave my truck parked after checkout while we went to eat. We’ve stayed here twice now, and the clean motel, clean surrounding area, and good location make it a strong choice for our future trips to the city. There’s a coffee shop next door and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. San Francisco may be our home away from home from now on.

The biggest surprise was how helpful the gentleman at the front desk was. We were downstairs under a very noisy room where guests were partying. After a 10-hour drive with two kids, I was nervous about raising the issue, but he kindly stopped the noise right away. I really appreciated that. I was also impressed by how clean everything was. The rooms are older, but the sheets were clean and the bathroom spotless. After unloading the car, I wiped the floor with one of my white towels and sanitizer before letting my crawling baby on it. Even after I’d walked around, the towel was still almost white. I was visiting SF on a budget and worried because the room was so reasonably priced. The front desk host was welcoming and gentle, and he anticipated some of my in-laws’ needs without me having to ask much. I hope I get his name before we leave. He was wonderful.

Parking for guests, a coffee shop right next door, and a Muni stop on the corner made the location really convenient. The neighborhood was nice too. Inside, the room was spotlessly clean, everything worked, and I was surprised to find a full kitchenette. The cozy, charming decor gave it the feel of a friend’s grandma’s vacation house. Staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The building is older, and you can hear neighboring suite doors opening and closing through the walls. It didn’t bother me, and otherwise the area and building were quiet, but light sleepers or anyone very sensitive to noise might appreciate earplugs or sleep headphones. It’s a great place to stay for the location and the price, which wasn’t crazy like many others.

Check-in was easy, and the man at the front desk was helpful. The room was clean and fine for what we needed, but the parking setup was a mess. Spaces are scarce and tight, cars get double parked, and staff ask you to leave your keys so they can move vehicles. When we checked out around 5 a.m. to catch a flight, another car was blocking ours. The woman at the desk didn’t have that car’s keys. After waiting, she said she knew which room it belonged to and told me to knock on the door myself. It wasn’t the right guest. I asked her to call a tow truck, but she didn’t want to do that. Staff then suggested we honk until the owner came out. We did, and woke the whole hotel. The person eventually moved the car, but the morning was a complete mess and the system seemed very disorganized. I wouldn’t bring a car here.
