The only problem I found was some leaking taps that need maintenance. Otherwise, I love the toiletries, which smell lovely and feel great on the skin, much like the great Taj Chain in India. The housekeepers are cheerful, efficient, and thorough. There are plenty of trash cans and recycling bins even with the hotel full for the bridge tournament, plus lots of water filters with really good-tasting water. It’s great not to have ugly plastic bottles adding to landfill and polluting our oceans. Please reuse and recycle to help our dear Mother Earth. I’ve been at Marriott since Friday and will stay until Wednesday, Dec 3rd, for the NABC, a National bridge tournament. With Christmas nearly here, the decor and atmosphere are outstanding. The motivated staff are a huge plus: Alvin and Ricky in housekeeping, John at the front desk, and the restaurant team, who did their best with a smile despite the crowds. The bar on the 34th floor has a great atmosphere and service, the halls are spacious and impeccably maintained, with no bad carpet smells or smoky corridors, and the good Peet’s coffee was the highlight of my day.

The location is central, but the service and the promised Marquis experience weren’t there. I’m glad we stayed only one night, and I wouldn’t recommend it. After a great trip around California, this was a letdown compared with the hospitality at other Marriott properties in the region. We were on our honeymoon and I’m a Titanium member, so I’d expected more. The lobby was loud and chaotic, with frustrated guests, and the M Lounge’s weekend hours meant we couldn’t use that benefit. We tried the rooftop View Lounge at night, but it wasn’t worth the hype. It was packed, the tables were tiny and took ages to get, the windows were hard to see through at night, and the food portions were small and overpriced. We waited hours for our room. Despite being promised an upgrade, we got a small corner room with only a partial view. The biggest disappointment was the hotel’s refusal to store the top layer of our wedding cake. It was professionally boxed and wrapped, and the other Marriott properties on our trip had helped with it during the four nights before this stay. The front desk wasn’t helpful, and the bell staff were outright rude, even though they knew it would spoil without refrigeration. We eventually had to throw it away at the end of our stay.

The rooms were very clean, the location is great, and the rest of the staff and the valets were amazing and helpful. Rosanna was especially good when she helped my boyfriend and me check out. She apologized for her coworker and found a solution for the credits we hadn’t received. Brianna checked us in the day before but didn’t mention our $20 cafe credit or the extra perks. It was my first time at this location, and I’d read reviews praising the service, but she didn’t meet that standard. It felt like she judged people by how they looked or dressed.

After an exhausting day of travel, we found our room spacious, comfortable, calm, and clean. The hotel is spotless and centrally located, so it was convenient for exploring the city. We checked in on December 16, 2025 and checked out on December 17, 2025 after an early flight that had left us completely worn out. Ricky at the bell stand was so kind. When my family was too tired to get up for dinner and I was starving, he patiently showed me how to find my way and which exit to use. That small kindness meant a lot after such a long day. Security officer Steve was friendly, helpful, and reassuring too. At the front desk, Allen from Nicaragua was exceptionally kind to my husband and surprised us with a lovely room on the 32nd floor. His warmth and professionalism set the tone for the stay. Every interaction felt caring and genuine, and the team clearly takes pride in working together. We felt respected, supported, and at ease from check in through check out. We loved the stay and would gladly return. It was a five-star experience, and I’m grateful for the compassion and courtesy shown to my family. The staff made a difficult, tiring travel day feel much easier.

I was thrilled to find a forced air white noise machine in my room. I use one every night at home, and it’s the best hotel amenity I’ve come across lately. The location is extremely convenient, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and there’s a rooftop bar with wonderful city and bay views. Service was efficient, though not especially warm. I enjoyed staying here.
