Hotel Timor

There's no nearby parking, and the way we were treated at checkout added to the feeling that guests weren't respected. At 11:05 AM, although we were literally about to leave, someone rudely reminded us that checkout was at 11 AM sharp, as though we were being thrown out. The first morning had already been miserable: cleaning machines made loud noise nonstop, and our room was right beside the glass container, so we heard the garbage truck emptying it at an ungodly hour. We asked to move and they did accommodate us, which I appreciate, but the hotel wasn't even close to full, so I can't understand why we got that room to begin with. I chose the hotel for its decent rating, but the stay fell far below expectations. If you want basic customer service and some peace, avoid it.

Smoke from people smoking on the balcony came through the ventilation when the AC was on, leaving the room smelling and making me feel dizzy and uncomfortable. I complained three times, but nothing was done and nobody even offered to move us. You can also hear everything from neighboring rooms. The room has no soundproofing, and it seemed like they really didn't care.

The hotel works fine if a lively atmosphere isn't important to you. The rooms are nice, and breakfast and dinner have lots of buffet choices, though the food is average. It seems the rooms were renovated recently, while the surrounding area feels like it's from the 80s. This was my first visit to Mallorca, and one thing to know before going is that it feels more German than Spanish. The hotel mostly has German pensioners staying there.

Eugenia and Margarita at reception made me feel welcome from check-in to check-out. They were lovely, helpful, and always ready to answer questions. The hotel is clean, housekeeping does a great job, and I loved my room. Francesca at the restaurant was wonderful too. Dinner was much better than breakfast, and the food was delicious. Great location and price, and I'd definitely return. I was disappointed that there was no iron, kettle, tea, or coffee available in the hotel. You also have to pay extra to use the in-room safe, which makes no sense to me. Even with dinner included, drinks aren't, so I paid extra each day. Breakfast has plenty of drinks, but dinner doesn't even include water. Small things like these would have made the stay much better.
