TRIBE Strasbourg Centre Gare

The location was terrible, and the staff came across as polite but curt. The bed was the biggest problem. Its mattress was old and worn, rock hard, with springs poking through. My first night was awful and I woke with back pain. The sofa bed had already been made up, even though I was alone, so I moved to that the second night. It was better, but still not great.

The hotel is in a really convenient spot, right opposite the station and close enough to the tourist sights. The building is old, and the water heater took a while, but I still had a nice stay :)

After hundreds of hotel stays over the past few years, this was the worst room I’ve ever been given. It was dreadful and not fit to be offered to a guest. They moved me after the first night, but I expected Accor, the owners of Mercure, to investigate properly. Their response was disgraceful. It’s sad that a big name like Mercure and Accor has earned my award for the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Avoid.

My mom and I were there November 21-23 and had a great time. Our twin room on an upper floor was spacious, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom felt luxurious, and we had a nice view. The hotel is very close to town transport and the train station. Breakfast was generous, more than we expected. The reception team helped with our questions, especially Carlos, who called us a taxi so we didn’t miss our bus. Thanks for everything, and congratulations to the team. We’ll be back soon!
