Royal Guest House Venice

It was exactly as promised, though not the greatest place. Getting in is pretty complicated.

The location was the only real plus. The room and shared spaces weren't clean enough, and having nine people share one bathroom was really inconvenient, with frequent waits to use it. The property's standard didn't match the price or what I expected. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and I certainly wouldn't come back.

There were rats in the hallway between the entrance and our room, and all four rooms had to share one unisex bathroom. The bed was broken when we arrived, so we moved the frame and slept on the floor, which was actually more comfortable. The next day, while making the bed, we noticed stains on the sheets that could have been there for who knows how long. I'd seen other reviews mention the same thing. When we contacted the accommodation about our stay as we were leaving, they threatened us. A disaster, really. Draw your own conclusions.

Ants got all over my bed and my food. When I told the host, he said it was normal in Venice and that there was a spray I could use. I left dinner on the table and came back to find it covered in ants. I kept asking the host to help sort it out, then he stopped replying. There was also a bloodstain on the floor. The rooms are tiny and dark, and the supposed city views were just of a small inner courtyard. I'm outraged and feel ripped off. Even with the location, I absolutely don't recommend this place.
