The location opposite the station is handy, and there's an excellent supermarket next door. It's a large hotel with a pool and spa, though there's no bar. The meals were fine but nothing special, and the tea room on the mezzanine was supposedly there but closed during my stay. Watch your step around the place. There are a few trip hazards, including curled-up carpets, low lintels under doorways, and little steps where you don't expect them. It's generally a nice hotel, though it could use some improvements.

The reception was great and the location is good. The rooms aren't bad, but housekeeping was terrible. They'd take away the towels, leave us without any for hours, and only later come back to clean. I can't see why they don't just replace them when collecting the dirty ones, which is what every other hotel I've stayed in has done. Cleaning also depended on who came: sometimes the shower was left dirty, it drains very slowly, sometimes there weren't enough towels, and only rarely was everything done right. Breakfast was the same every day with no variety. I've stayed in many hotels around the world and rely a lot on reviews, so I hope this helps. If you stay, I hope you have a better experience than I did.

On our first wedding anniversary, my husband and I got into the lift with our luggage while a taxi waited outside. Our flight was in two and a half hours. The lift broke down, then dropped several floors more than once while we were trapped inside. The bell didn't work, so no one could hear our calls. We shouted and screamed for help, and it took 20 minutes for anyone to reach us. All we could see was bricks, with no way out. It was hot and stuffy, and I was terrified and close to passing out. When help finally came, they said an engineer had been called, but they hadn't called one. They tried opening the door themselves, and it took another hour and a half. We missed our flights and got home 27 hours later, after paying another £470 for the return flight and spending the night at the airport. We couldn't face leaving and just wanted to get back to England as soon as possible. We didn't even get an apology. I'm still scared and anxious about lifts, and this has affected my mental health. I suffer with anxiety now and wouldn't want anyone else to go through this. The whole experience was a nightmare. Please think carefully before booking here.

The hall looked beautiful and breakfast was okay, but our room was so noisy that sleeping was impossible. Nobody on the staff seemed willing to move us. The hotel wasn't that bad otherwise.
