Hotel Sintra

The warm, friendly cleaning staff made us feel welcome. I especially remember the older auntie who cleaned room 515 on November 9, 2025. She smiled warmly every time we saw her, and management should know she’s a real asset. Daily cleaning was available, and the hotel was well kept, though the facilities are quite dated. There was a faint cigarette smell in the corridors despite our booking on a non-smoking floor, but it didn’t bother my family much and we couldn’t smell it once inside our room. We found the location ideal for exploring Macau. Convenience stores are about a block away, a 24 supermarket is around a ten-minute walk, Senado Square is about ten minutes on foot, Ruins of St. Paul around twenty, and Grand lisboa hotel about five. There’s a 24-hour Cantonese restaurant across the street, free shuttle buses to Cotai Strip and other places, and a public bus station close by. Buying food, water, snacks, and daily supplies at the supermarket is much cheaper. The room was fairly large, and our toddler enjoyed running between the adjacent connecting family room. Towels, toiletries, and water were provided and replenished daily. The 24/7 front desk and security were available and efficient. For what I’d call a three-star hotel, the rates were very affordable. It’s a good base for a Macau vacation, and my family and I had a great stay. I hope management can add more guest services and places to hang out. A microwave guests can use would also be appreciated.

Our Standard King room had a jacuzzi in the bathroom, and the room was spacious and clean. Service was impeccable, too. Hotel Sintra is great value for money and sits close to Senado Square, the Ruins of St. Paul, and other attractions. The free shuttle bus stops are also nearby. Highly recommended, five-star value.

The room was okay, though we didn’t have hair towels on the first night, perhaps the maid forgot to leave them. We’d booked a non-smoking room but were given one with a strong cigarette smell, and we couldn’t sleep that first night. We asked to move for the second night, and the new room was much better with no cigarette smell at all. I still don’t understand why they put us in that old room in the first place.

The room was spacious and the location made it easy to walk to attractions. The front desk service was good. Food at the restaurant on level 1 was good too, but the service there was lousy.
