Hotel Benidorm Mexico City

The staff were nice and friendly, but the rest was poor. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, and the amenities were sparse and low quality. There were no hand towels or bath mats in the bathroom, and the 'suite' had clearly seen better days. I booked online through booking.com, and the pictures didn't match reality. They advertise it as a five-star hotel, but it felt like a hard three-star. The first impression was awful: worn lobby furniture, room service trays piled on the hallway floors, and tables and other things left in the middle of the hall, creating a fire escape hazard.

The WiFi kept dropping and reconnecting, so it was no use for work or streaming. The air conditioners barely cooled the room and mostly sounded like white noise machines. There was also a putrid sewer smell from the bathroom drain, and I had to cover it with a towel to make the room bearable. The place looks decent, but don't be fooled. It's a bare-bones hotel with serious maintenance and infrastructure problems. I definitely won't stay again.

A spacious bed and excellent shower pressure made for a comfortable night's sleep. It's also handy for getting to areas like Roma and La Condesa, about a 15-20 minute walk away. The rooms feel dated, though, and I had significant noise at night. It's a basic stay that generally meets expectations for a Best Western-style experience, but beyond the location and standard amenities, there's not much memorable about it. Decent if you just need a no-frills place in a convenient area.

The hotel is advertised as a five-star place, but I was disappointed as soon as I arrived. The lobby looked neglected, with broken seats, clutter, and trash on the floor by the front desk. The towels were stained and poor quality, and there were only two bath towels, with no hand towels. Maintenance, cleanliness, and the quality of guest services all need significant improvement. I hope management takes this seriously for future guests.
