Hotell Bondeheimen

I stayed in a Superior Twin room. It was clean and quite spacious, and the WiFi was reliable. Breakfast was included and high quality. The only downside was how clearly we could hear noise from the neighbouring rooms. It’s a good option in the centre of Oslo, about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

Breakfast was good, though the tables are packed close together and it gets crowded when things are busy. We were moved to an upgraded room because the hotel was full, but it was still fairly modest, with a very small bathroom. It faced the road, so on weekends we had to keep the window shut because of people heading out. For an international hotel, having only Norwegian TV channels felt like something they should improve.

Getting around Oslo was easy from here, whether on foot, by cab, or on public transport. The only downside is how tempting it is to spend the whole day enjoying the stylish, pleasant surroundings of Hotel Bondeheimen. Our room was super comfortable, the restaurant covered every meal, and breakfast was splendid, with coffee and cake too. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and really keen to sort things out.

The location was great and the bed was very comfortable. I liked how spacious the Super Double room was, but the late night street noise from trams and passersby, plus sound from the hallway, made it loud on both sides. The bathroom was tiny, with weak shower pressure. Water splashed past the glass door and left the toilet area soaked, and the shower floor tiles felt slippery and unsafe. I only learned from Google reviews that the door has to be locked manually when you leave. Staff never told me when handing over the key card, so my room was left unlocked for half a day. That's unacceptable. The hotel should fix the lock system or clearly explain it to guests. Between that, the noise, and the bathroom, I wouldn't want to stay again.
