Hotel Triton Union Square San Francisco

What started as a same-day flight in and out of SF turned into a weekend in the city after delays forced me to find somewhere to stay at the last minute. This boutique hotel was such a GEM that I decided to stick around and enjoy SF a little. The people working here were so welcoming and friendly. Alice at the front desk treated me like royalty when I needed it most and made sure I had everything I needed. Thank you so much ❤️🙏🏼 And thank you to Jay and Saba at the front desk too!

The lobby was well kept, the service was great, and the location suited my work event. Even so, I wouldn’t stay here again. Thin windows let in constant late-night street noise, and I felt uneasy that the room door had no deadbolt or peephole cover. The refrigerator was warm, and the shower pressure was terrible. Some outlets were missing pieces and barely held plugs, a basic maintenance issue that multiple reviews mention. The carpets feel dingy and dated, breakfast isn’t worth stopping for, and the resort fee is a total ripoff.

The fortune cookie I got to pick at reception when I checked in had a message that summed up my stay beautifully, as the picture shows. I ended up at Triton for a night because my flight was cancelled, and it was a lovely surprise: a stunning lobby, cute rooms, and some of the friendliest staff you could meet. Esmeralda and Jay A, with the charming earrings, made check-in and check-out memorable, and I’m especially grateful to them. The housekeeping lady on the Friday, Jan 9 morning shift on the 6th floor was a sweetheart too. I missed her name.

For the past six years I’ve stayed at Hotel Triton for work, and the experience has always been great. The staff are consistently helpful and accommodating, and the hotel welcomes dogs. Getting around is easy: it’s steps from Union Square, beside the Chinatown Gate, a short walk to North Beach, and close to Market Street for BART, MUNI, streetcars, cable cars, and buses. I highly recommend it.
