Breakfast was huge and just perfect, especially finished off with a delicious waffle. Our room was beautifully designed and looked out over the canal, and Lyne made sure we always had champagne and the canal view at breakfast. This B&B is such a special place and made our Bruges trip. 10/10, the most amazing stay.

Lyne and the team made us feel incredibly welcome. Even though we arrived late at night, they had a glass of champagne ready, and Lyne let us keep our key for the whole day we departed. The suite was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious, with eggs and waffles. The location is perfect too, we enjoyed riding right past the breakfast room on the canal boat tour. We’d recommend this hotel so highly.

The boat tours are worth knowing about if you book a canal view room. At busy times you may hear commentary over microphones from boats passing below, sometimes two a minute, from around 10 am to 5 pm. You’ll probably be out then, and once the churchyard is locked and the tours stop, evenings are whisper quiet. Street facing rooms are a bit quieter in the daytime and more affordable, while still charming. All rooms can use the breakfast room for coffee or tea, and there’s a small rooftop deck with a few seats. Our room was utterly charming and comfortable, with a quite firm bed. The bathroom was well equipped but short on storage. The shower pressure was great, and the jacuzzi bath jets were incredibly strong, heavenly after a long day exploring. Breakfast was wonderful: fresh orange juice, plenty of coffee and tea, a fruit plate, cold cuts and cheese, plus eggs your way. I loved the scrambled eggs with salty bacon, and if you have room, try a waffle too. Lynne and her assistant took good care of us. Lynne even arranged a car service back to Brussels after our Eurostar time changed, which helped a lot. This is one of the most unique places we’ve ever stayed, a world class guesthouse experience. We’ll remember it forever and heartily recommend treating yourself to it.

We came here for a completely relaxing break after a run of carefully planned trips with friends and family, and that’s exactly what we got. The bed was comfy and welcoming, and we loved being able to head up to the roof terrace and enjoy the day. The owner greeted us, helped get our luggage into the entrance hall, and had the bags taken to our room while I was shown into a lovely sitting room and offered a drink. My husband went to the private parking box. Once he joined me, she brought us each champagne, sat down to go through a map, and answered our questions while suggesting places and interesting routes. Her attention was amazing. She showed us around the B&B and encouraged us to feel at home before taking us to our suite. Both mornings, breakfast was lovely and served exactly when we asked. There was champagne again, such a luxurious touch. We felt special, the atmosphere was so relaxing, and we can’t wait to return.

We picked the highest room, which means quite a climb on the narrow stairs, but it was no problem for us. At checkout, we could lock up our bags and enjoy more of town, or, in our case, squeeze in a few last chocolates. Private parking was handy in a place where parking can be hard to find. The rooftop porch is lovely for relaxing, with a stunning view of the church steeple. Downstairs, breakfast is freshly prepared in a room right on the canal, so you can watch swans drift by. I’ve been to Bruges three times, and Hotel Bonifacius is my favorite place to stay. Loved the location, room, and breakfast, and would definitely come back.
