Giovanni was an incredible host and made sure the service was top notch during my recent visit to the Woodward. I spent a good deal of time at the exceptional bar and downstairs cigar lounge. Highly recommend for cocktail and cigar lovers!

I only visited friends at the bar, where the small bites were delicious and the drinks tasty. The lounge felt clean and warm, and the location is fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient.

The place itself is lovely, and it would have been nicer if the candles had been lit on a dark Christmas evening. But the meal was frustrating. I ordered falafel, then after 15 minutes was told the kitchen couldn’t make it, so I chose the vegetables instead. They brought me falafel after all, without explaining that the chef had found it. I wish they’d let me know. The tea was cold, the cup had tea stains inside, and I got a different tea from the one I’d ordered. I can only assume Earl Grey Queen Blend was the menu’s Earl Grey and Blue of London was no longer available. The pot was only half full. When I sent it back because the water was lukewarm, it came back with more water but no fresh teabag. I was too tired to complain again. I’d strongly recommend using proper tea leaves instead of teabags.

Our deluxe suite had a lake view, and the hotel’s position beside the water made it easy to walk into the main part of town. The fountain was also nearby. Inside, the rooms are beautifully detailed, especially the timber floors and cupboard, and the bathrooms are immaculate. The artwork was lovely, and the minibar was included, apart from alcohol. We’d stayed at a big-name hotel in Geneva before and were disappointed by its dated rooms, so we researched carefully this time and chose the Woodward. It certainly isn’t cheap, but this level of quality comes at a price. The spa and pool were immaculate too, and the whole property was very clean. We’ll return when we’re in Geneva again.
