Hotel Margit

The hotel is handy for a short trip to Munchen. It's not far from the HBF or city center, the tram stop is across the street, and there are places to eat nearby. It's also just 1-2 mins on foot from the UK visa center, so you can stay the night before an early appointment, do your visa in the morning, explore the city, then leave. Our room was clean and spacious enough for three, with a balcony, essential toiletries and a bottle of stil water per person. Breakfast was nice for 10€ extra, with eggs, fresh fruit, juice, sausages and cheese. Both reception ladies, on arrival and departure, were helpful and accommodating. They offered tea or coffee, free 24/7 in the breakfast area, and some croissants when we arrived, and printed documents for us for free. Nice hotel, great service and an affordable price for Munchen.

Our worst experience ever. They said two rooms would cost 100, then when it was time to pay they asked for 200. We'd already canceled our other hotel because they said one more night would be the same price. They were rude about it, and the receptionist refused to explain anything. The rooms were on the first floor and very noisy, so we couldn't sleep. The area didn't feel good or safe either. We didn't feel comfortable going out after 8.

We came for Oktoberfest, and the festival was just a five-minute walk away. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby too. The hotel was clean, the service was good, and I'd happily stay here again.

The room was fairly spacious compared with other hotels, though basic, and the beds were clean. Breakfast was good, and the hotel is close to the train station and central station.
