Four Points by Sheraton Singapore, Riverview Hotel

The CNY dinner at Imperial Restaurant on 25 Feb 26 really dampened the festive mood. We were in a private room with four tables, sat down at 715pm, and didn’t get food until 830pm. Even the soft drinks and hot tea came 20 minutes after we ordered. The food was tasteless and lukewarm, including the cod fish, which also smelled fishy. There weren’t enough service staff, so we had to clear our own plates. This was the worst CNY dinner I’ve had in the past year, and I won’t go back.

The river setting made it easy to take scenic walks, with plenty of places along the way for food and drinks. My room had a great view of the river, and I’d recommend booking one with that view. The staff were friendly, and there was a nice range of food options. A wonderful stay.

We were comfortable during our three-night stay, and the hotel is handy for a bus stop, the MRT, and a walk along the boardwalk. It’s outside the downtown core, but only around a 5-10 minute walk to the MRT. The buffet breakfast had loads of choices, and the service was impeccable. The staff and service are what made this a five-star stay for me. I’d definitely come back.

The riverside setting is the one real highlight. The rooms are decent, but otherwise it’s a very average hotel. Some staff were courteous and others rude, and most couldn’t understand or speak basic English, which I’d expect at an international hotel. One tip for Marriott properties: ask for an itemized bill before paying, since they won’t offer it for you to check beforehand.
